1. Bako National Park

Bako National Park is located on the coast of the Muara Tebas peninsula on the island of Borneo, not to be confused with the island of Dr.Moreau from the famous science fiction novel by H.G. Wells.

The island is quite small-only about 16 sq. miles(41 sq. km), but is incredibly blessed with beauty and diversity. You'll find swamps, forests, cliffs, coastal lands and beautiful landscapes.

Bako has an amazing amount of flora and fauna for its relatively small size. A range of wildlife such as long tailed macaques, silver leaf monkeys, flying lemurs, slow loris, mouse deers and the famous Proboscis monkey call Bako National Park their home.

Gunung Mulu National Park, a UNECSO World Heritage Site, has everything to offer for both leisure and adventurous visitors. It has world's most extensive cave system, jungle trekking, river rapids and fascinating people.

Here lies the world's largest underground chamber, the Sarawak Chamber, which can occupy forty Boeing 747 airplanes without overlapping each other. Nestled amidst the serenity of the city's Lake Gardens, the colorful Kuala Lumpur Bird Park is one of the largest free flight aviaries in the world. Divided into four areas and spanning 8.5 hectares of sprawling valley, this pionerring park is home to over 200 species of native and exotic birds.

The Bird Park is popular with photographers who are keen to try out their bird watching lenses but the birds are so close you can take good photos even with your cell phone.

Other popular attractions include the lovebirds, the brahminy kites, the flamingo pond, the World of Parrots, the hornbills, the oriental birds avairy and the pelicans.

4. Kinabalu Park

Designated as the Malaysia's first World Heritage site by UNESCO, Kinabalu Park is one of the most important biological sites in Malaysia. Its major attraction is Mt. Kinabalu standing 4095 meters tall, highest mountain on the world's third largest island.

It also is the Center of Plant Diversity for South East Asia. The park boasts more than 5,000 vascular plant species and doesn't have any shortage of fauna as well, being home to some 90 lowland mammal species and many others.

Major things to experience include hiking, trekking, canopy walkway, butterfly farm, varieties of birds and animals and hotsprings.

5. Aquaria KLCC

The Aquaria KLCC is an oceanarium beneath Kuala Lumpur Convention Center within Kuala Lumpur City Center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Aquaria houses about 5,000 aquatic marine animals in the country's largest saltwater tank that can hold up to 2.5 million liters.

You will be able to see the aquatic animals from a glass tunnel that is 90 meters under the water.The animals are organised according to animal type and habitats. You can find otters in the stream exhibit, sharks, eels and stingrays in the Living exhibit and catfish and garfish in the Freshwater exhibit. There also is a Piranha tank for the piranhas.

Don't forget to watch the spectacular feeding time of sharks, eels and turtles.

6. Batu Caves

Located to the north of Kuala Lumpur, Batu Caves is a limestone hill with three caves and a number of smaller ones featuring temples and Hindu shrines. The place attracts thousands of tourists and worshipers being an important Hindu lankmark.

There are 4 main attractions at Batu Caves which are the Temple Cave (or Cathedral Cave), Dark Cave, Cave Villa and the Ramayana Cave.

The main cave is the Temple Cave which is accessed by a steep flight of 272 steps. The cave serves as a Hindu Temple devoted to Lord Murugan whose 42 meter high statue stands as a guard outside.

The Dark Cave is said to be the home to the rarest spider in the world, the Trapdoor Spider.

In the cave Villa you can see painted statues and paintings of Indian poets and characters from the Hindu mythology.

The last attraction is located on the left side of the green statue of Hanuman, the monkey god. It is decorated with the scenes from the Hindu epic Ramayana

7. Crystal Mosque

An architectural masterpiece in itself, the Crystal Mosque is a major attraction in Malaysia.The mosque is coated with steel, glass and crystal which gave it its name.

Its sleek and modern look is reflected off the river surrounding the mosque. The illumination from the inside the mosque also makes it look like the glass domes are shining. The Crystal Mosque is able to accommodate up to 1,500 worshipers at a given time and also made its name internationally.

8. Langkawi's Cable Car and Sky Bridge

Langkawi's cable car ride is one of the most unforgettable thrills we can ever experience. This is one of the world's most awesome cable car rides because this ride to the top of mount Cincang takes you to a hright of 708 meters in about 15 minutes through the steepest cable car gradient in the world and offering breathtaking views of the mountains, valleys, islands and the Andaman Sea.

The Sky Bridge on the other hand is a curved suspended bridge made of steel that hangs at an altitude of about 700 meters from the sea level and supported by a single pylon in the middle. The pylon which is a tall tower like structure has a record breaking height of 82 meters from the point where it is grounded on a ridge and keeps the bridge suspended in an open space next to the peak of Mount Mat Cincang.

These two breath-gasping experiences will definitely leave you speechless and maybe trembling on your feet.

9. Kuala Lumpur Tower

Standing majestically atop Bukit Nanas at 421 meters and 94 meters above sea level, KL Tower is a prominent feature of the city's skyline and perhaps one of the most enduring images a visitor to KL will remember. Its architecture reflects the country's Islamic heritage, with the construction detailing Arabic scripts, Islamic tiles, classic Islamic floral and abstract motifs and soothing color combinations.
